WIT and J.Crew in Paris final post: the Parisian rooftops

Back in February the J.Crew team in New York asked me to head to Paris to check out the new (and first) French store in the Marais. My task was to explore Jenna's favourite Parisian spots and photograph one outfit I loved in each location. For the past five months I've been posting one outfit from each one of these locations, from the Tour Eiffel, to St. Germain and the iconic Jardin Tuleries and it was the most incredible journey.

We've come to the last of these posts, and this was actually one of my favourite spots: the Parisian rooftops. I was staying in a gorgeous hotel close to the Jardin Tulerie, and I was so lucky to catch a glimpse of January sun as we shot these photos in some of my favourite summer pieces like a peasant top (Collection embellished crepe de chine blouse £112), denim shorts (Broken in denim shorts in Crowley wash £42 ), statement earrings (Mardi Gras earrings £98), cool sunglasses (Illesteva™ Leonard II tortoiseshell sunglasses £290) and of course, a little something monogrammed (Uptown Tote £178)...

I had so much fun playing dressing up in Paris and produce these posts, I hope you found some valuable shopping tips from them and if you missed my previous Paris post, check them out here:

WIT andJ J.Crew in Paris part four: Tour Eiffel

www.wearingittoday.co.uk

When the J.Crew team in New York asked me to head to Paris to check out the new (and first) French store in the Marais, it was really a no brainer. My task: head to Jenna's favourite Parisian spots and photograph one outfit I loved in each location.  From the Tour Eiffel, to St. Germain and the iconic Jardin Tuleries you can follow me through the streets of Paris every first Tuesday of the month  as I play dress up in my favourite J.Crew items.

My journey to the Tour Eiffel started at the iconic Parisian Metro, where I also have the funniest photo of a passer by who decided to take a photo with me that will post it on Instagram later!  For this second to last post of my WIT and J.Crew in Paris installments, I wore a bright yellow mesh skirt with one of my all time favourite Vintage Cotton grey T-shirts and a denim jacket. Yellow is the perfect colour to celebrate July and the arrival of summer, yet wherever I'm going on holiday I always pack (and travel in) a denim jacket. It doesn't crease, it looks good withe everything from a pair of shorts and T-shirt to a sparkly summer dress and keeps air con and chilli summer nights winds away. I finished off the look with a statement iridescent hologram clutch, a delicate pendant necklace, gold bangles  mixed in with my own jewellery and olive green tasselled heels. Some of the things I'm wearing have sold out, but if you click on the links you will find the next best thing available to buy right now. Now I will leave you to some of the pics Eva K. Salvi and I took one cold February day by the beautiful Eiffel Tower in Paris... See you next month with the last Parisian post!

If you missed my previous Paris post check it out on March the 30th and April the 28th by clicking on the links.

See you on Tuesday the 2nd of August for my final Parisian post!

Statement earrings

Topshop jumpsuit, Isabel Marant earrings, Kurt Geiger shoes, J.Crew bag
Typically you can hardly see them in this pic, (they are the ones in this week's STAR BUYS to the right), but last night I found myself planning my outfit around my newly purchased tasselled hoops from Isabel Marant ( Isabel Marant Gold-plated beaded hoop earrings £195). I love them so much and I can already envisage wearing them all summer long...
In the mean time though (no sign of summer here in the UK) I am wearing them with my Topshop boiler suit, a simple black court and my every day tote for a presentation and then a day in the office.

Behind the scenes on our Perfect Wardrobes shoot

A few weeks ago I posted this photo on Instagram minutes before stepping into the house of our second "Perfect Wardrobes" guest star, my friend and fellow fashion editor (although a bit constrictive as she's much more than that - she is the ultimate shopping expert), the one and only Deborah Brett.

I've known Deborah for many years and I don't think I ever remember seeing her and not coveting  every single item she was wearing. So, when Petro (who also has a huge style crush on her) and I were thinking about who's wardrobe we wanted to explore for our party dressing issue, we simultaneously said: DB's! She was kind enough to welcome us into her beautiful newly refirbshed Holland Park home, and let us run loose in her walk in wardrobe that she shares with her partner Tom.

We had the TIME OF OUR LIVES!

And if you love her style, you must check out her blog too - not only she is an impeccably stylish dresser, she's also super talented at making "things"... from spray painting pumpkins for Halloween to turning her daughter Mini's bedroom into an enchanted forest, Deborah has a skill for everything and anything.

Enjoy this little behind the scenes sneak peek!

What to wear for Thanksgiving (and you next Christmas party)

In the UK (or Italy) you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but my family is part American and as such I've celebrated this festivity every year of my life (and kind of hope Greta will too one day). I usually go back to Italy where me and the 62 members of my family (no jokes) sit down for a super fun meal, but this year I couldn't make it to Florence so I'm throwing a little soiree of my own, complete with my grandmother's Turkey recipe and all the trimmings.

I've been doing some outfit planning because I love to get a little dressed up and I'm undecided between a pair of statemnet culottes (that I recently bought from Coast) and an old feather LBD. So even though most of you won't be celebrating tomorrow, you might get some ideas for your next Christmas party!

The culottes and jumper look
It's always stylish and a little but different - I love that with this outfit you can wear a cosy knit

Coast lace culottes £75

The LBD look
I have an old Whisltles feather dress that I have worn so many times - it says party in a chic preppy way. I love this Oasis version too.

The jumpsuit look
It's the modern answer to smart dressing - pair it with a killer court and a pair of boho earring to give it a more relaxed feel.

Mango jumpsuit £59

Gianvito Rossi suede and pvc pumps £470

J.Crew earring £32.50
