As many of you know I am a (luxury) outlet lover, and Bicester Village has always been one of my favourite shopping destinations in the UK. I have visited for all sorts of occasions: before the summer holidays when on the hunt for a little designer gem (click here to see a previous post and my Missoni caftan); with one of my best friends when we were looking for her weddings dress (yes, Valentino, hot off the catwalk at drop-on-the-floor accessible prices); when pregnant with GZ for a little shopping spree at Bonpoint and even with my shopping-hater husband because they have all the best menswear too. So when I got asked by Bicester to come and review the new site and select my favourite Spring Summer pieces, it really was a no brainer. Here's an account of my day.
There is something so special about leaving from the old fashioned Marylebone Station in London - it's like stepping back in time. Fifty minutes later I arrived at Bicester North.
Within 15 minutes of arriving (the shuttle bus only takes 10 minutes) I was already heading into the first shop of the day: shoe favourite Rupert Sanderson
I loved these turquoise metallic courts, perfect to jazz up a pair of jeans (and at 60% off!!)
Really hard to choose with so many fabulous styles..
I was really tempted by these (kind of regretting not buying them...)
I LOVED these lips sandals - having a total Carrie moment!
Next I'm off to Maje, a new addition to the Bicester Village roster. I love this cool French brand, you can find anything from leather jackets to cocktail dresses and the prices here are too good for words..
I've got a lot of weddings and Christenings to go to this summer so I'm on the hunt for a little dress that will serve all purposes with a change of accessories. This pink and this coral frocks both catch my attention..
This hue of pink was divine
This is the perfect multitasking summer dress
I even try on a pair of on-trend chunky sandals..
I Instagram a pic of my feet: "These go pretty well with my coral pedi"
In the next few hours I have a list of shops to head to:
LK Bennett, Temperley (where I try this gorgeous evening maxi skirt), Karen Millen, Reiss..
In LK Bennett I'm looking for a pair of statement flats..
These?
And I think I may have found them!
David Clulow is the perfect place to find a pair of sunglasses for my summer
I can't quite believe they've got my all time favourite Ray Ban's - this is truly an investment buy
And in red too!
Then it's time for my favourite: Marni
I am told that this is the best time to go to Bicester Village because
all the new season arrives around these weeks. Marni is looking full of
stock to the brim, I literally go a little mad and bring lots into the
changing rooms to try on..
They virtually have everything in every size and the browsing continues..
Top tip: always head to the jewellery section in Marni (my favourite!). I have found some of my most treasured jewellery in here...
I Instagram another pic from the shop: "I have so many weddings and christenings coming up this #summer - this dress would make me the best dressed guest (the bejewelled collar is part of the dress!) @witblog #bvtakeover #fashion #style"
I loved this brocade skirt worn with my MiH shirt that I was wearing on the day
It's been a great day and I'm gutted I've got to leave to go home. I walk out of the shop with a little bag for myself.. See tomorrow's post to see what it is!
