WIT Wedding Wednesday: Veil or no veil?
The moment when a father lifts the bride's veil and kisses her forehead before giving her away always give me goose bumps! Veils are certainly beautiful and romantic, yet not for everyone. Choosing the right one can be hard, so for today's WIT Wedding Wednesday I thought I would research different styles and showcase some of my favorites. First thing is to look at the right length to suit your dress style..
Then there's the different fabrics..
Lace.. |
Tulle.. |
And the different finishings:
Tied over the top of the head |
Classic veil positioning.. |
Three style icons on their wedding day: Grace, Jackie and Audrey
And here are some of my favorite modern takes on the veil..

Pajama trousers
No, I'm not actually wearing pajama trousers! By definition PJ pants are relaxed in the fit, must be worn a little low slung, come in a silky fabric and are the epitome of comfort. I bought a pair of Joseph ones a few years ago and I've been hooked ever since, they are my sprint time must have trouser. The ones I'm wearing today are from Zara (in store now) and perfect with flats for the day or heels in the evening.

A touch of Prada
Remember when I bought this bag back in February from the outlets in Florence? I tweeted this purchase from inside the shop: "Pink, orange or blue??". You all voted so quickly and the orange was the winner- so here we are, Prada bag and I, on the number 9 London (old style) bus for a day of press days.

WIT Wedding Wednesday: pre-wedding pampering
My friend Claire and I (when the going gets tough), like to say that: "SPA solves all".
It's our little motto and it couldn't be more true: how can a facial, a glossy pedi or a fab blow dry not make you feel like a new woman? So in preparation for my wedding (2 months to go now!) I've made time for some truly indulgent treatments that I would love to share with you. One of these is the amazing Vaishaly signature facial. I had had Vaishaly facials before at the gorgeous Dorchester Spa, but last week I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Vaishaly herself.
The Vaishlay clinic on Pddington Street in London |
On her website it says "Superfacialist Vaishaly's skincare philosophy has always been refreshingly simple: 'You don't need a lot of different products to achieve beautiful skin.' Yet her massage technique, light use of microdermabrasion and product range leaves your skin absolutely flawless. She believes passionately in treating the skin as gently and naturally as possible, and the products in her skincare ritual reflect this philosophy. The facial experience, weather you get an appointment with her or one of her much trusted facialists (she trains them all herself), is simply divine. You've got to try it to believe it.

And for an extra indulgent pre-wedding pampering session, try a Vaishlay facial (amongst many other fabulous treatments) at The Dorchester Spa in London... all a girls can ask for. Check out some of the treatment rooms.. perfect for hen nights too!

Banana pants
I got these Banana Republic trousers back in October at the Spring/Summer press day and I've been dying to wear them since. Spring seems to have arrived in England and today's sunny weather is perfect to show them off. I'm wearing them with bejewelled heels and a lightweight camisole and will throw over it my black leather biker jacket.
Chinti and Parker blouse, Banana Republic trousers, Zara shoes and Illamasqua orange nail polish did at the week end ;-)

Mid-seasonal staples: the sandal
Any day now it'll be time to go bare legs, so we will all have to make sure we have perfectly smooth pins and pedicured toes. In preparation to this moment, a sandal that can be worn with or without tights is my 5th and last mid-season wardrobe essential. Today I'm wearing my new metallic Rupert Sandersons with thick navy cotton tights and polka dots dress.

Mid-season staples: the trench
Day four of my week of mid-season staples and the sun is shining so I'm taking out a spring essential: the trench. My fashion director Nicola Rose says that this season it's all about an opened trench, so I'm leaving it unbelted and keeping it casual.
