WIT Wedding Wednesday: Veil or no veil?

The moment when a father lifts the bride's veil and kisses her forehead before giving her away always give me goose bumps!  Veils are certainly beautiful and  romantic, yet not for everyone. Choosing the right one can be hard, so for today's WIT Wedding Wednesday I thought I would research different styles and showcase some of my favorites. First thing is to look at the right length to suit your dress style..

Then there's the different fabrics..
Lace..
Tulle..
  And the different finishings:

Tied over the top of the head
Classic veil positioning..
Three style icons on their wedding day: Grace, Jackie and Audrey

And here are some of my favorite modern takes on the veil..

My veil was my favorite part of my whole wedding outfit!! It was cathedral length with little sparkles and lace and just made me feel so amazing! :) x x

If you're gonna do a veil, longer than shoulder length or not at all. That just looks like you've run out of material. You're (hopefully) only a bride once, so do it up I say! Tastefully of course. Vote 1 for veil! :) x M

I think you should definitely get a veil! I really like the third one on the black and white veil positioning picture, but I would just go try some on to see what feels right to you :)

I love tulle and lace veil. An hairdo with little rosebuds or little flowers is special too... Some are amazing, specially for a spring-wedding :)
I'll send a pic.

I vote YES to veil but:

keep it simple so no lace and no to elaborate trims.
As to lenght, I would say fingertips!

My veil will be a Chapel lenght, definitely I don't like the shoulder, elbow and fingertip lenght.
At firts I didn't want to wear a veil at all, every time I put it on at fittings I saw myself as a "Madonna dell'Arco".
I decided to do it anyway, 'cause I think I would regret it if I'm not wearing it on my wedding day....
Did you choose it yours?!

I think it completely depends on the venue, the dress & the bride! My twin sister got married in a huge cathedral and had a veil (my mom's) and I got married in the Archbishop's Palace in Kent which is a registry office and with no veil. Identical twins, but totally different styles of wedding. Vive la difference! xoxo

Veil for sure - so pretty. Mine was fingertip length, and my little girls Isabella and Poppy LOVE playing princesses with it....it does have an after life too - also great fun passing it around to potential brides during the wedding and taking pics of them - frightens the hell out of their boyfriends....very funny x

Veil for sure - mine was fingertip length and I used the lace from my dress as the head piece bit - also great fun to attach to your friends heads during the wedding for photo ops - there were a few concerned looks from boyfriends when I did this, but have great pics! They also have an afterlife - my little girls Poppy and Isabella love pretending to be princesses in it - enjoy xx

I loved my veil, my dress was floor length and the veil clipped on the back of my hair and was a full length train, appliqued with antique lace. Designed it myself and even 13 years on I wouldnt change it one bit!

Just wondering if you'll be covering clothes for wedding guests in your wedding Wednesdays? I'm going to one soon and hoping for some inspiration!
