1, 2, 3. Baby steps towards colour

This summer is all about colour, but this is easier said than done. So here are three really easy way to inject colour into your wardrobe for all of you to try. First of all work out  a colour palette that suits your skin tone, then buy separates and accessorize to complement this.  I bet even the most colour sceptic of you will be able to rock one of my simple outfits:

1- Wear with denim! it's easy, it's casual and you can't go wrong with it.
2- Accessorize! Even if black is the only colour you wear, next time you shop look out for a colorful necklace, bangle or even a watch strap. Wear with black if it makes you feel safer.
3- Neutralise it! Tone down a bright colour dress, trousers or skirt with a neutral jacket, jumper or top.

And if you really can't do any of the above I have one last trick up my sleeve...
Do it with beauty! Paint your toes bright pink or wear a tangerine lipstick.

Good colours for..
BLONDES: reds, greens, pinks.
BRUNETTES: oranges, blues, yellows, light pinks.
RED HAIRED: greens, reds, purples.

Very simple concept with stunning results. Love the orange t-shirt. There is a lot of colour out there but you have chosen wearable pieces that fit in for work and play - thank you!

Ciao girls! the feet are not mine but those of my lovely assistant, Lucy! She is wearing COLLIDE from Illamaqua and her sandals are from River Island. Believe me when I say people stop her on the street to ask ALL the time!! ;-)

I've been lovin' colour this s/s but am so surprised at just how slow this is to take off. maybe where i live (hertfordshire) but there don't seem to be that many brave people out there! I'm always in colour in the summer as I wear so much black and grey in the winter, it's such a lovely antedote! However this year it's lovely to be colour blocking rather than wearing colourful prints or floral dresses. I've really found a summer style that works for me and I love love love!

Great post honey. Love the orange tee. and tell your colleague the feet are super cute. The RI sandals look so much more expensive/designer don't they?

Love the colour block look. I always try to team a coloured piece with black as I am not quite daring enough to wear more than one bright colour!! Love that orange tee – I need to try orange this summer, I think!
