How to wear PJ print trousers

My suggestion is to think of PJ trousers as you would  of jeans, don't get put off by the name and just wear them as you would with any other trouser. Pair with a cool oversize knits, a sweatshirt or a simple basic T-shirt and throw in a fancy heel to galm the whole thing up. Zara, Oasis and Warehouse all have great inexpensive styles in at the moment so no need to spend a fortune on Stella McCartney! Just a tip: choose silky, loose styles with a drawastring waistline for a super relaxed look.

Chinos time!

I love it when it's chino's time again! You will see me wear khaki trousers lots this spring, I love them all: skinny, baggy, rolled up, with heels, flats and more. today I'm wearing my new Oasis pair, they have a great fit and I love the little roll up detail. I've paired them with a preppy double stripe, printed pumps and a pop of red with my Smythsion bag.

Night out

I haven't done an evening WIT in a while so tonight I thought I would take my pic before my night out. I got a sparkling new mani and pedi with bright pink polish so decided to dress up my jeans with my JCrew cashmere top, Anya glitter clutch and my Jimmy Choo bejewelled pumps. I love a Friday night!

Bright accessories

Spring is finally here and although I am nowhere near ready for a bare leg of a coat-less life I'm starting to feel the need to brighten up my wardrobe. There are so many amazing bright coloured accessories in the shops at the moment and I recently did a page in Red about my favourite primary colours buys. Have a look and see what you think. I have my eye on the below...

PFW: Beyond The Bag with Laura Fantacci

Need a new fashion crush? Nope, neither did we. Then we stumbled upon stylist Laura Fantacci’s online wardrobe log Wearing It Today and wouldn’t you know it, game over. As Fashion & Shopping Editor for Red Magazine she’ll give you the scoop on who makes what, where you’ll find it and who does the high street version as well as showing you how to sling it all together. Laura, you’re our hero, now tell us how it’s done…

I love dressing for Paris. Fashion Week is always a bit more glam there than in London, which is more about street-style. The Moschino dress I’m wearing here is one I bought for New Year’s Eve. I did get some double takes away from the shows  – everywhere else it was just a regular Sunday morning, even in Paris. But I recommend it, wearing an evening dress for breakfast is brilliant fun.
I shop in-between the shows, just a little sprint here and there. Merci is the new Colette – it’s a lifestyle store, a one-stop shop, quite urban. Or I go to the pharmacies to stock up on cheap lip balm and skincare from brands like Avène and La Roche-Posay. They’re the best.
I like to think I don’t have a bad clothes day but you tell me! I’ve developed a wardrobe of safe go-tos, classic combinations that are universally approved by just about everyone. A great pair of jeans with a stripy top will always work. And you should always have a great t-shirt, it’s a summer essential.
I hope my blog is approachable. I mix real pieces with more expensive ones, and it all has to be wearable. The first thing I think about when I get dressed is what’s my schedule today, what’s the weather like, will my shoes be comfortable. In London, it’s so cold a lot of the time so you really need a great bag, a coat you love, and comfortable shoes.
I love the high street but it’s not for bags. Serious bag are investment buys. They’re better made and last longer – one of the things you’re paying for is the shelf life. And you know you can always take it back to the boutique to get even the smallest thing put right? It takes a while but they’ll give it back to you in perfect condition.
I have about 15 serious bags but I don’t have anything I don’t use. They have to be wearable, which means not too heavy or you’re never going to use it. Ok, maybe I have a couple like that but I won’t name names. The lining’s too heavy or there’s too much metal on them. Really, check that before you buy. Try them when they’re empty then throw in some keys, your wallet, a few essentials and try again. The ones I wear most are the lightest.
My clothes are where I experiment, my beauty stays the same. I have a formula but I do switch around a few key things. I’ll maybe wear a smoky eye or a add a pop of bright lipstick. On days where I just want to wear jeans and a t-shirt I like to jazz it up with a coat of MAC Lady Danger, it’s pure matt pigment and looks amazing. My signature hairstyle is a high ponytail which I love tying with BaByliss neon elastic bands. And I love nail varnish. I have a whole beauty cabinet filled with dozens and dozens of colours. Essie, Butter London or Chanel all do amazing shades.

Catwalk show and I want YOU!

Catwalk show!
Not quite the glamorous polished event I experience at fashion weeks, so excuse the messy hair, the end of day make up, the crappy lighting and the pale skin (I'm not quite ready for a bare leg and I'm most definetly not ready for the one piece swimsuit I bought). However last night I just couldn't resist trying on everything I bought, and what fun! My favorite pieces are the brocade top and trousers, the maxi dress and the earrings. I also love the double print cotton dress to the far left which i didn't think I was going to like as much. Since I almost fainted when the cashier told me how much I had spent, I'm stille debating weather to return some of the items I'm not sure about.. The week end will bring advice. In the mean time the space below is all for you, please send me a pic of you in your favourite Marni at HM buys for another post on how you are WIT-ing it today! Will update this post next Sunday with my favorite looks so get catwalking this week end!!

Send all pics to wearingittoday@gmail.com

So...........

The day has finally arrived! I get up at 7.30 and head out my flat. At 8.45am on the dot  I meet Lucy in front of the Bond Street store, I got my Lanvin things there and know how it all works. As I said to the girls in Italy we say: "Never leave an old road for a new one.." ;-)

Got my wrist band!

My slot is at 10.25, it's the fourth slot of the day so I'm thinking nothing will be sold out yet...

Lucy (left) and Lauren (Red's intern to the right) managed to get an earlier  shopping slot so I watch them shopping away and they are going maaad!

10.20am and it's almost my time. After each slot they restock the whole area.. we are being advised we have 10min to shop. I can clock all my favorite items and the anticipation is huuuge!

Lucy takes a quick snap of me getting one of the items on my list: the print maxi dress (summer here I come!)

15 minutes later it's all done and..... here's what i got:

What a fun day! x
