I know it may seem like a weird time to be buying summer wear, but the sales is actually the perfect time to bag those item which you will need in six months time and will then be at full price. I always buy a chic one piece or a colorful bikini from the sales that I couldn't generally afford at full price. I love the white one piece from Karla Colette usually £290 now £87 will look great with a tan. Or the classic black Melissa Odabash Costa Rica bandeau bikini Was £160 Now £64. In my dreams is the Heidi Klein bow bikini down to £139 from £198!
New Look jacket, Cos top, French Connection scarf and trousers, Jimmy Choo ballerinas, Chanel bag.
My swimwear-sale buying tips are:
- Make it a treat- go for a designer piece that you would never afford full price
- One pieces are just as good as evening wear at a pool party, so opt for something a bit on the fabulous side.
- If in doubt buy a size too big- nothing worse than constrictive swimwear
- Make a box in your cupboard and label it S/S- save all the new things you bought for the first day of spring. It will be like discovering a whole new wardrobe I promise!
All swimming costumes above are from the sale section of Net-a-porter beach boutique
Other great sale at the moment are on the Heidi Klein website and the Matches website
Also a brand worth watching is Violet Lake who makes beautiful, versatile and practical bikini sets (at affordable prices) - think easy mix-and-match styles in a harmonious color palette for every shape and size.
